JUST IN: PAAU Senate Withdraws 27 Students Over Poor Performance, Non-Registration
The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the withdrawal of 27 students for poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters.
The decision was taken at the 166th Regular Meeting of the Senate held on Wednesday, 29th July 2026, after consideration of a report by the Results Verification Committee.
The affected students, drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery, failed to meet the minimum academic requirements or to register for two consecutive semesters, thereby forfeiting their studentship in line with the university’s academic regulations.
Students withdrawn on account of poor academic performance are James Isaiah (24EN1006) of English and Literary Studies, Alih Hameedat Ugbedo-Ojo (24EN1171) of English and Literary Studies, Isah Abubakar Anaha (24EN1201) of English and Literary Studies, Ekele Faruk Joseph (24PA1029) of Public Administration, Peter Mercy Iye (24PA1096) of Public Administration, Isah Sediq (24PA1123) of Public Administration, Opaluwa Achimugu (24PA1152) of Public Administration, Idris Husseina (24SC1156) of Sociology, Zakari Abdullahi Abdullahi (26MD1019) of Health Science, Unekwu Priscilla Ochoniya (26MD1046) of Health Science, and Prince Mathew Victor (26MD1047) of Health Science.
Those withdrawn for failure to register for two consecutive semesters are Moses Omachoko Cornelius (24EN1095) of English and Literary Studies, Ujah Stephanie Uyojo (24EN1146) of English and Literary Studies, Reuben John Usman (24BA2017) of Business Administration, Egah Timothy (23EE1084) of Social Science Education, Sumaila Tenimu (23EE1011) of Social Science Education, Abubakar Aliqahhar (24EE1082) of Social Science Education, Afolayan Emmanuel Temidayo (24GE1015) of Social Science Education, Bamokwu Usman (24SE1193) of Social Science Education, Yusuf Nafisah Opeyemi (24HE1034) of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Alabi Moses Kolawole (24HE1042) of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Ilemona Maria Attah (24HE1085) of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Nurudeen Muhammed Salihu (24HE1091) of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Abubakar Muhammed Awwal (23IE1018) of Arts Education, Unwujo Habibat (23IE1035) of Arts Education, Noah Ojonanyi Shedrach (23BF1232) of Banking and Finance, and Semion Praise (24SE1256) of Social Science Education.
Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended the Results Verification Committee for its diligence, objectivity and commitment to upholding academic standards.
He reiterated the determination of the Senate and university management to sustain academic excellence, discipline and quality assurance, stressing that while the university would continue to provide a conducive environment for learning, students must equally demonstrate commitment to their studies and comply with extant academic regulations.
The Vice-Chancellor urged all continuing students to remain focused, take advantage of the enabling academic environment and strive for excellence in both character and learning.
Affected students have been directed to submit all university property in their possession, including identity cards and other official items, to the security unit before exiting the institution.
