JUST IN: CUSTECH Expels Onumoko, Eneji for Gay Practice, Rusticates Four Other Students for Fighting
The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) has expelled two students for involvement in gay practice and rusticated four others for one academic session over acts of fighting on campus.
The disciplinary measures were approved at the 31st Regular Meeting of the University Senate, held at the Faculty of Law Lecture Theatre, following recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
In separate letters addressed to the affected students and signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academics, Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, the university stated that the actions were taken in accordance with the provisions of the Students’ Handbook, Second Edition, as amended in 2025.
The expelled students are: Onumoko Hamza (Matric No. 23L1BE0945, Biology Education) and Abdulazeez Lukman Eneji (Matric No. 23L1MN0088, Mining Engineering) for gay practice.
The following students were rusticated for one session for fighting: Favor Akowe (Matric No. 24L1MC2212, Microbiology), Simbiat Babamuharuna (Matric No. 25L1BL4453, Biology), Zainab Salami Omayoza (Matric No. 24L1BC1277, Biochemistry), rustication for one academic session, and Sukura Bukola (Matric No. 25L1BC4352, Biochemistry).
The University Management reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline, order and a conducive environment for teaching and learning. Management warned that it would not hesitate to take decisive disciplinary actions against any student found violating the institution’s rules.
